Cindy Waters

Executive Director

Cindy has a varied background in corporate administration and human resources and has managed employee and volunteer teams in both small and large organizations.

She began as a volunteer with the Chilliwack Bowls of Hope in 2011, first delivering soup and soon after began coordinating volunteers while joining the Board as Vice President.

In 2018 she took on the role of Executive Director and is excited to further the organization’s goals of breaking the cycle by providing educational opportunities for students to learn how to cook budget conscious, nutritious meals for their families, using a crockpot.

Ted Kim

Program Manager

Ted accepted the position of Program Manager in September 2020.

His passion for people and community has led him to the non-profit sector.

Previously Ted was working as a touring singer songwriter, and session musician, and continues to pursue his passion for music in addition to his work supporting the community.

Michaela Reist

Marketing Coordinator & Administrator

Michaela started her journey with us in August, 2021. She has a background in marketing for non-profits. Before her role with Chilliwack Bowls of Hope, she was living in Chandigarh, India and was sponsored by the Government of Canada to work for a local food security non-profit.

Michaela is passionate about being involved in her community and contributing to greater socio-economic equality.

Tony Thompson

Food Recovery

Tony has 47 years of experience as a chef, working all over Canada, Bermuda, and England, having served hundreds of thousands of meals. During his time in England Tony was employed several times by various members of the Royal Family. Though he no longer works for British royalty, Tony believes that the quality of his food should always be fit for a king or queen, regardless of whether they wear an actual crown.

Over the last five and a half years Tony was a chef for Ruth & Naomi’s Mission, and has joined Chilliwack Bowls of Hope to continue his passion of feeding those in need in our community. 

Andrew Loewen

Chef

Andrew has 10 years kitchen experience starting at Camp Squeah summer camp, to becoming a sous chef at Hope’s 293 Wallace Street restaurant, to managing the Corner Nook Cafe in Chilliwack.

Andrew has a passion for helping others and being involved in the community, which has led him to work for bowls of hope.
